Mouse Antibody Production (MAP) Test

For detecting viral contaminants in biological materials (monoclonal antibodies, cell cultures, hybridoma cell lines, transplantable tumours etc.).

Rat antibody production (RAP) tests can also be performed on request.

MAP tests follow the specifications by Collins und Parker (J. Natl. Cancer Inst. 49:1139-1143, 1972) with special reference to the "Guidelines on the production and quality control of monoclonal antibodies of murine origin intended for use in man." (Commission of the European Communities notes to applicants for marketing authorization. TIBTECH 6:G5-G8, 1988).

One MAP test includes 210 serological tests. All of the 16 viral infections listed in the EC guidelines (plus M. pulmonis) are considered, but not retroviruses. More details can be obtained on request.
